Preston Adams is a graduate from the University of Northern

Colorado with their Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance.

They spent two summers performing opera in Germany,

performing Monostatos in Mozart's The Magic Flute the first time

and then performing the role of Gaston in La Traviata while

being Chorus Master/Music Coordinator.


After graduation they started doing community theater around

town appearing in shows such as Chess (Freddie), Little Shop of

Horrors (Ronnette), Evil Dead: The Musical (Jake), Hair (Hud),

Hairspray (Seaweed), & the Henry Award winning Scottsboro Boys

(Clarence Norris). After years of performing, they decided to write,

co-compose and premier an original musical There Will Be Light

in May of 2021. 

They started teaching in 2018, and started building their voice studio in 2019. They now teach and direct kids, and give private lessons to kids and adults alike. They make it a point to give students the skills to find their own voice, and help to guide them down the path of their own vocal journey. Primarily a musical theater singer (with a degree in opera performance), they have sung jazz, funk, r&b, gospel, pop, rock, rap, a Capella, and most genres of music. 


Preston Adams has also become a community activists, advocating for equality in theater. They are member of IDEAs (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) and has done several interviews and performances, while also serving on the workshops committee dedicated to educating theater leadership on dealing with race and how to be an anti-racist. They have helped to create Wellspring, a theater branch off of Backstory Theater dedicated to giving voice and visibility to marginalized actors/actresses who need their stories told.
